Another 30% were ‘leaked’ into the surrounding environment to pollute both land and sea. This causes a domino effect that impacts plantlife, wildlife and, eventually, human communities. A 2016 West Rock Consumer Insights Study, for starters, revealed over 65% of consumers to have tried out a new product because the packaging caught their eye. This same study also saw 45% of respondents stating they purchased a product because the packaging was environmentally friendly. This could be the cultural shift we need to make a difference.
Today over 50% of people around the world will make their purchase decisions partially due to packaging or entirely. That should tell you of the shift in attitude when it comes to eco-friendly living. Despite this, just 15% of consumers in a recent study felt businesses were actually doing what was needed to leave a green impact. Not only do you need to utilize clamshell packaging solutions, you need to make sure customers know what you’re doing to make the world a cleaner place to live.
